How the levels differ
D1, D2 and D3 are the three NCAA divisions. The NAIA is a separate association of smaller colleges, and the NJCAA runs two-year college baseball. They differ in how athletic aid works, how big a roster is and how coaches recruit, so a player usually builds a list across more than one level. Our honest recruiting guide explains what to ask before you pay anyone.
Want rankings? They are the publisher's work, not ours: D1Baseball rankings.
School, level and location facts come from the U.S. Department of Education (the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act 2024-25 filings and the IPEDS institution directory). Nicknames and conferences are compiled from public lists and left blank when we could not match them with confidence. Sources: EADA athletics data, IPEDS institution directory. Spot a mistake?
