Real risk, real safeguards
Batting cages require attention from everyone
We want CageList to expand access to quality training space without ever treating safety as background copy. A safer session starts before the booking, continues when the host prepares the cage, and depends on guests, parents, coaches, and hosts stopping play when something does not look right.
Batting practice involves real risk: baseballs and softballs move fast, bats are swung in close quarters, and equipment can fail if it is not maintained.
CageList does not guarantee that every session will be risk-free. We reduce risk through host standards, waivers, reviews, support, and clear reporting paths.
If something looks unsafe when you arrive, stop before anyone hits, contact the host, and report the concern to CageList. For emergencies, call local emergency services first.
How it works
Built into every booking
These are the safeguards CageList provides today. They do not replace personal insurance or a host's responsibility for their property.
Stripe checkout
Payments are processed through Stripe with bank-level encryption. Payouts to hosts stay on-platform so issues can be traced and resolved.
Digital waivers
Guests sign a liability waiver before their first booking, renewed annually. Waivers set clear expectations for conduct, equipment use, and assumed risk, and release both CageList and the host.
Dispute resolution
If something goes wrong with a booking, contact our support team. We review both sides and work toward a fair outcome when payments stayed on CageList.
Two-way reviews
Players and hosts rate each other after sessions. Reviews help the community spot great cages and flag concerns early.
On-platform bookings
Bookings and payments must stay on CageList to keep access to support and dispute resolution. Off-platform deals are a Terms of Service violation.
The CageList session standard
Before anyone swings
These are the expectations we repeat across booking pages and emails because they are the practical behaviors that reduce risk during a cage session.
- Inspect netting, turf, lighting, screens, machines, and walking paths before play starts.
- Wear appropriate protective gear, including helmets for live pitching or machine work.
- Keep minors supervised by a parent, guardian, coach, or responsible adult for the entire session.
- Follow posted house rules, guest limits, equipment instructions, and host safety directions.
- Stop play immediately if a ball escapes the cage, equipment shifts, weather changes, or anyone feels unsafe.

- Keep your cage clean, well-lit, and equipment in good repair
- Require waivers for every guest and post clear house rules
- Maintain your own liability coverage — CageList does not provide insurance
- Respond promptly to guest messages and booking requests
- Report safety incidents through Contact Support as soon as possible
