Pecos Spring League 2027 in Houston: Dates, Cost and How to Sign Up

By CageList TeamOctober 31, 20265 min read

Status: Upcoming. Checked against the official Pecos League pages on October 29, 2026. Much of the Spring League page still carries 2025 content, so check the official page for changes and confirm every number with the league.

The Pecos Spring League is a program in Houston, Texas, listed for March 5 to 26, 2027. The Pecos League is an independent professional league, and the Spring League is where it looks at players for its rosters. It is not free, so read the cost section before you commit.

The facts, from the official pages

  • Dates: March 5 to 26, 2027.
  • Place: Houston, Texas. The page does not name a field.
  • Cost: the league's store lists a Houston Spring League deposit at $500, $750 or $1,250, and full registration with housing at $2,000. The page does not say what each deposit covers or whether it counts toward the full price. Ask in writing.
  • Who it is for: the Spring League page says the Pecos League has jobs for players 25 and under and describes the league as a showcase for undrafted free agents and rookies. The league's tryout page also says any player not under contract with another pro team may try out.
  • How to register: through the store at spring.pecosleague.com. The page does not describe any other process.

One thing to know before you pay

The Pecos League's tryout page says it does not accept players from pay-to-play winter leagues, and names the California Winter League, the Baseball Scouting League South Florida Winter League and the Puerto Rico Instructional League. That matters if you are weighing a paid winter league against a paid spring program. Ask the league directly how it treats players from any program you are considering.

What happens after

The Spring League page says the league helps players get independent contracts and visibility with affiliated teams, and that players may be signed at the end. It lists job offers from past years: 13 in 2025, 16 in 2024 and 31 in 2023. It does not say how many players took part, so those numbers cannot tell you your odds. Ask for the number of players in each year's program before you pay.

Other Pecos League dates on the official page

The same tryout page lists a Western League tryout in December 2026 and the Spring League in March 2027. It gives no city, field, fee or age rule for the December date, so we have not built a guide for it.

What to bring (general guidance, not from the league)

Your own glove, cleats, a bat if you use your own, a throwing routine for arm care, a printed one-page player sheet, and a budget for the whole stay. Ask what housing is included, how meals work and what happens to your money if you are released early.

What evaluators usually look at

Velocity, arm strength, speed and quality of contact get you noticed. Staying healthy and playing hard every day gets you kept. Managers also watch how players act when they are not in the lineup.
