Your program's reputation lives on Instagram, in group chats, and in word of mouth. That works for families who already know you — and fails the new family who searched travel baseball or travel softball in your city last night. A free CageList team page gives your program a real home: claimable, searchable, and separate from anyone's personal feed.
Your team needs a baseball / softball identity (not another personal account)
A lot of coaches and players who love the game end up with Instagram pages that are only baseball or softball. That can work for creators. It is a mess when you are running a roster.
Personal feeds blur the lines: parents do not know which account is official, tryout info gets buried under weekend photos, and when a coach leaves, the "team page" walks out with their login. Serious players already separate person vs. player. Serious programs need the same split: personal social vs. team home.
CageList is for the second one — coach- and org-owned, review-backed, built next to the cages your families book for extra reps. This is not a social feed. It is the official front door for your baseball or softball identity.
What the page does
- You own it. Claim your team's page in the travel-ball directory and add your logo, photos, divisions, cost/season info, and a tryouts / how-to-join blurb.
- It ranks. The page is built to show up when families in your city search for travel ball — putting your tryouts in front of parents who are looking right now.
- Your players get extra reps. Each team page surfaces real, bookable batting cages near your city, so families can grab extra swings before the next game or tournament.
All free. Think of it as a recruiting billboard that runs 24/7 — without mixing the program into someone's personal identity.
Step 1: List or claim your team
Start at Travel Teams on CageList. If your team is not in the directory yet, list it free. If there is already a page, claim it to take ownership. Either way you end up in control.
Step 2: Make it a recruiting magnet
Fill in what a searching family cares about: logo and photos, divisions and age groups, cost and season basics, and a clear tryout / how-to-join section with a signup link. You can edit and resubmit any time.
Step 3: Confirm your roster
Players can self-report that they are on your team, and you confirm or reject each one. That keeps your roster real and your page trustworthy. We keep this coach/org-first on purpose — the page is for the program, not a place to build a minor's personal brand.
Set expectations honestly
CageList is the discovery and exposure layer — the place families find you and your players find cages. It is not a full league-management platform. Registration, payments, and roster software stay on your own systems. Nearby cages are for families to book reps, not a team-managed block-booking tool.
Why claim it even if your roster is already full?
Because full today is not full next season, and your reputation does not travel to a family that has never heard of you. A claimed page is free, permanent exposure aimed at parents searching for a program — and a one-tap way for current players to get extra cage reps near home.
Facilities and academies have the same play — see claiming your facility's page. New to CageList? Here is why CageList exists. Want cage time for the team this week? Find batting cages near you.
