Founder of CageList and MADE Baseball. Baseball has been my life since I was nine years old. I've played at every level: Little League, travel ball, high school, college and professional ball, in independent leagues across the United States, Mexico, the Czech Republic and Canada, plus a club season in Australia. Frontier League All-Star and championship series MVP in 2007, a no-hitter in 2008, four championships, and one of two players in history to play pro ball after a total hip replacement, the other was Bo Jackson. In 2024 I was pitching coach for the Savannah Bananas' Party Animals. I coach hitting, pitching, infield, catching and baseball IQ, 8U through varsity. High standards, simple language, relentless positivity: my players know why they are doing what they are doing, so it holds up when I am not standing next to them. Homeschool families: I coach Monday through Friday during the day at Swing Kingz. Hey there! My name's Nolan Bryan, named after the legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan. I learned everything about baseball from my dad, Frank Bryan, who was a pitcher drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 7th round. Coaching is my passion. My goal is to inspire self-confidence and joy within the game of baseball. I teach my players to have extremely high expectations for themselves, and to not beat themselves up mentally when they fall short of those expectations. The phrase I like to instill is "I'm going to, rather than I hope I don't." For example, my player might tell themself "I'm going to hit a home run," instead of "I hope I don't strike out." In my experience, I've seen that assuming positive outcomes leads to more success - in baseball and in daily life. I have also seen that a player with extremely sound fundamentals will sometimes make mistakes if they are't prepared for high-pressure moments. I teach my players to do both - be fundamentally sound, and want the big moments. I look forward to our lesson together.

My name is Dietrich Jache, and baseball has been a lifelong passion. Through coaching, I aim to share my love of the game, help young players develop their skills and confidence, and give back to the sport that has given me so much. I grew up in San Diego, California, where I played on numerous All-Star teams and competed with the San Diego Stars, an elite travel baseball program. My teammates included several future first-round draft picks, including a future number-one overall selection. I attended St. Augustine High School, an all-boys Catholic school with a baseball program consistently ranked in the top ten. I was a three-year varsity starter and earned all-conference honors. I then earned a baseball scholarship to Northwestern College, an NAIA program in Iowa, where I was a four-year starter and received first-team all-conference honors in three of my four seasons. I still hold the college’s career doubles record and rank second in career hits. During my college summers, I competed in the New York Collegiate Summer League and the Pacific Coast Summer League, earning All-Star honors in two separate summers.

Questions parents ask
How do I find private baseball lessons near me?
Start with the coaches on this page. CageList has verified coaches in Florida, California, and New York, and each state page lists the coaches, the towns and the places to train. Each coach page shows where they teach, what they charge and their open times, so you can check the distance before you pay. We only list coaches who are verified and background checked, so some areas have none yet. We say so rather than show someone far away.
How much do private baseball lessons cost?
A one hour private lesson with a coach on CageList is $50 to $120 for one player. Prices are read from each coach's live booking settings. Families who find a coach through CageList also pay a one-time $10 finder's fee on their first lesson with that coach; it is shown at checkout before you pay.
What does a private baseball coach do in a lesson?
A private lesson is 60 minutes of one on one work on what the player needs: a long swing, a sore throwing arm, fielding footwork or catching. A good coach explains the change in plain words, gives the player reps to feel it, and leaves a plan for the week.
Are the coaches background checked?
Every coach with a Background Check Verified badge on CageList has passed a Checkr check covering identity, national criminal, sex offender registry and watchlist searches before their page goes live. A background check is not a guarantee of anything else, so still ask about experience and watch the first lesson.
How long is a private baseball lesson, and can two players share one?
A private lesson on CageList is 60 minutes. Two players can share a lesson when the coach allows it, and the total is split between them, so each player's share is lower than a solo lesson. The price for two is shown on the coach's page.
There is no coach in my town. What now?
Leave your email on this page and we will write the day a verified coach joins near you. Until then, you can book a cage by the hour on the private lesson spaces page.
