This backyard batting cage in Westminster, MD is the real thing, a full 65-foot turf-based lane built around a Jugs machine, the kind of setup that quietly turns a home into the spot every local hitter wants to get into. It sits at 21157 in Westminster and is ready for real work.

The cage

The cage measures 65 feet long, 11 wide, and 11 tall, long enough for genuine live-distance timing work rather than a cramped short lane. It's a Jugs #7 batting cage with a turf base, a hitting mat, and an L-screen, so hitters can settle into a proper batter's box and take real cuts on solid footing. Parking is on site, and sessions run $45 an hour for the full outdoor lane, booked by the hour so you reserve exactly the time you need.

Who it's for

With room for up to ten guests, this cage handles everything from a solo hitter working on timing to a small group or team splitting reps through an afternoon. The full 65-foot length and turf base make it a strong fit for machine work at realistic distances, and the mat gives players a consistent, level box to hit from session after session.

The host

Bruce built a proper regulation-length backyard cage with a turf base and a Jugs #7 machine, a setup that takes real commitment and no small expense to put in the ground. By listing it, he's made his backyard the place local players can count on for quality reps close to home, instead of driving across the county to a crowded facility.

Good to know

The rules here are refreshingly relaxed (mainly just keeping the music down) which makes it an easy, low-pressure place to hit for a solo player or a small crew. Parking is on site and there's no fuss to get started. It's an outdoor cage with a turf base, so it's at its best in fair weather and dry conditions.
