Backyard Batting Cage in Seguin, TX

Some cages get built for business. This backyard batting cage in Seguin, TX got built for a son. What Edgar Herrera put together to prepare his 13-year-old for high school baseball turned into a serious private training space — and now it's open to every hitter in the area.
The cage
The cage measures 15 feet wide by 55 feet long by 12 feet tall, set up as a very private, open outdoor space for baseball and softball. It's stocked with baseballs and softballs, a heavy-duty Tanner tee, a soft-toss station, an L-screen, and — for strength work — medicine balls, a tractor tire, and an 8-pound sledgehammer. Just beyond the cage is a 60-foot natural-grass bullpen with a turf pitching mound, a varsity backstop net, and a pitching target for accuracy work. It rents for $25/hour.
Who it's for
Edgar lists it for youth through professional players, and the training types run the full range: individual sessions, small groups, pitching practices, private lessons, and filming content. With the bullpen and infield space alongside the cage, it's a genuine all-around training environment, not just a place to take swings. It holds up to eight guests.
The host
Edgar tells it straight: "We're a proud baseball family who began our oldest son's baseball journey when he was just 5 years old — he's now 13! Our original goal was simply to prepare him for high school baseball, but his consistent dedication, strong hitting, and hard work inspired us to build him his very own batting cage." That kid is now the one with the cage in the backyard, and his family is proud to share it.
Good to know
It's a very private, outdoor, uncovered space near Seguin High School, drawing players from New Braunfels, San Marcos, and San Antonio. Parking fits up to five cars. House rules are thorough: no pets, no alcohol, no smoking, no seeds, no gum, no cleats, and no glass.
