Run by Long Island's largest independent sporting goods store, this backyard batting cage in Wantagh, NY gives local hitters a private, well-equipped place to get reps just steps from one of the best baseball and softball equipment selections in the region. It's an easy, no-hassle spot to book time and get straight to work.

The cage

The cage measures 20 feet long, 14 wide, and 12 tall, set up for focused hitting sessions. It comes with baseballs and softballs, an L-screen, and a hitting tee, so players can work live front toss or off the tee without hauling their own gear. LED lighting keeps evening slots usable, and there's restroom access and parking on site. Sessions run $50 an hour, and the by-the-hour booking means you reserve exactly the time you need and train on your own schedule.

Who it's for

With room for up to eight guests, the space works well for individual hitters and small groups looking for a private, no-frills place to swing. Both baseball and softball players are covered, and the compact 20-foot layout is well suited to tee work, front toss, and short, high-rep sessions where a hitter wants volume rather than long-distance machine timing.

The host

The cage is operated by the largest independent sporting goods store on Long Island, a business built around baseball and softball, from equipment and cleats to apparel. That means players booking here get their reps steps from a deep selection of gear and staff who genuinely know the game and can help with anything from a bat to a glove re-lace.

Good to know

House rules keep things clean and respectful: no cleats, no seeds, gum, or food, no pets, and no team practices, this is a space for individual and small-group hitting rather than full squad workouts. Lighting, a restroom, and parking are all on site, and it's an outdoor cage, so it's at its best in fair weather and worth planning around the forecast.
