Backyard Batting Cage in Spring, TX

Justin Stidham built this backyard batting cage in Spring, TX for his own three kids — all of them playing select baseball and softball — and then decided to share it. The result is a clean, well-thought-out "Power Alley" that plays like a small facility in the backyard.
The cage
The cage runs 55 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 12 feet tall, with turf inside and a clean turf area outside the cage too. It's set up with a hitting mat that has a home plate and batter's boxes, an L-screen, and a rubber backstop with a strike zone painted on — great for pitchers dialing in location. LED lighting keeps evening sessions going, and there's restroom access and parking on site. Sessions run $50/hour.
Who it's for
Between the marked batter's boxes and the strike-zone backstop, this cage works for hitters wanting realistic reps and pitchers wanting a target. With turf inside and out and room for up to four guests, it's a tidy space for individual work or a parent-and-player session.
The host
Justin runs a CrossFit gym in the Spring area and knows what a good training space feels like: "Have three kids two boys, one girl. All play select baseball and softball. Built turf and cage area for them and would like to share with others." That same care he puts into his gym shows up in the details here — this is a cage built by someone who wanted the best for his own kids first.
Good to know
It's an outdoor, uncovered cage, so plan around the weather — though the LED lighting stretches the day. House rules are thorough: no pets, no seeds, no food or gum, no cleats, no loud music, no smoking, no glass, and no alcohol. Restroom access and parking are on site.
