This backyard batting cage in Riverside, CA started as a dad's gift to his kid. Jacob got the cage to help his 11-year-old, who loves baseball, sharpen his game. Now he's sharing it with anyone who wants to put in the work, at one of the most affordable rates you'll find anywhere.

The cage

The cage measures 44 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 10 feet tall, an outdoor setup that comes with a pitching machine throwing 60 MPH-plus and curveballs, an L-screen, a hitting tee, and baseballs. There's LED lighting for night sessions and a seating area on site for anyone waiting their turn. At just $15/hour, it's a hard rate to beat for a cage that has everything you need to improve your game, from tee work to live-speed pitches.

Who it's for

With a real machine, lights, and a tee, it's a great fit for individual hitters and families (up to four guests) who want quality reps without a big price tag. It's ideal for young players working on their swing, and the curveball setting on the machine gives more advanced hitters something to chase too.

The host

"My name is Jacob. My boy is 11 years old and loves baseball," he says. "I got him a batting cage to improve his game. I'm offering the cage to anyone that wants to work on their game." It's a simple, generous gesture, one dad opening up his son's cage so other kids can get better too, and keeping the price low enough that any family can use it.

Good to know

LED lighting means you can hit after dark, and there's a seating area for anyone waiting. The pitching machine throws 60 MPH-plus with curveballs, so hitters of different levels can dial it in. House rules keep it focused: no pets, seeds, food, gum, smoking, glass, alcohol, or loud music, and it's set up for individuals rather than team practices.
