In North Easton, a baseball dad and coach opened up his backyard batting cage in North Easton, MA, a full 70-foot cage right in the backyard, ready for real reps whenever a player needs them.

The cage

This is a full 70-foot outdoor cage, 14 feet wide and 12 feet tall, with an L-screen, a hitters mat, a hitting tee, and balls provided. It's a clean, no-fuss setup built around one thing: putting in real swings at full distance. The extra width gives a hitter and a coach room to work without crowding, and the full length means you're not compromising on the kind of reps you can get. Sessions are $50/hour, reserved by the hour so you train on your own time.

Who it's for

The full length puts machine and live batting practice within reach for a solo hitter, a parent-and-player pair, or a small group of up to 8. Because it's a home cage, it's set up for individual and family sessions rather than full team practices, the right pick for focused, personal work rather than a crowded group workout.

The host

Ryan keeps his introduction short and to the point: "My name is Ryan and I'm a baseball dad and coach." That coaching eye shows up in the setup, a straightforward, functional cage with everything a player actually needs and nothing they don't, clearly built by someone who spends a lot of time thinking about how hitters get better.

Good to know

It's a private backyard cage with the essentials on hand to hit. House rules are simple: individual and family sessions only (no full team practices), plus no pets, no smoking, and no alcohol, and keep the music down. Bring your own bat and you're ready to go.
