This backyard batting cage in Litchfield Park, AZ comes with something most don't: personal instruction from a former MLB player and coach. Derrin Ebert opened up his 60-foot cage for hitters who want real reps, and, if they want it, real coaching.

The cage

Derrin's outdoor cage runs 60 feet long and 12 wide, with a portable mound, an L-screen, a hitting tee, baseballs, and space to work the infield. There's also a plyo wall available for arm-strength work, plus restroom access and a sound system. Sessions are $50/hour and fit up to six guests. For players who want to go further, professional instruction is available as a $60 add-on.

Who it's for

Between the full-length 60-foot cage, the portable mound, and the plyo wall, this setup works for hitters and pitchers at any level, solo sessions, families, or a small group of up to six. The standout is the coaching option: with a former MLB player and coach on hand, you can turn a rental into a genuine lesson. The plyo wall adds arm-strength work to the mix, so pitchers can build a complete session rather than just throwing bullpens.

The host

Derrin brings a professional pedigree to the cage, a former MLB player and coach offering personal instruction alongside a well-equipped backyard setup. That combination of pro-level experience and an accessible home cage is rare, and it's what sets this listing apart. For a player who wants more than reps, the chance to get direct feedback from someone who has coached and played at the highest level is hard to find at any backyard cage.

Good to know

Baseballs are provided, and the plyo wall and professional-instruction add-on are there if you want them. House rules: no pets, no seeds, no cleats, no smoking, no glass, no alcohol. It's outdoor and uncovered, so plan around the weather. Sessions run $50/hour, and the $60 instruction add-on is well worth it if you want to make real changes to your swing or delivery.
