You can tell a lot about a backyard batting cage in Elk Grove, CA from how its host talks about it, and Ben opens his with a simple promise: if there's a way to serve you with this cage, just say the word.

The cage

Ben's private outdoor cage runs 53 feet long, 16 wide, and 10 tall, with LED lighting and a sound system for comfortable evening sessions. He'll throw to you off the L-screen himself, or you can use the Atec Radius 270 machine (30–60 mph) with 24 dimple balls; there are also 180 baseballs and an assortment of metal and wood bats from 27" to 34". Seating and snacks round it out. Sessions run just $20/hour.

Who it's for

With room for up to seven guests, a live arm, a machine, and bats on hand, this cage fits solo hitters, a parent and player, or a small group getting reps together. Because Ben provides so much of the gear, you can show up with just a helmet and get straight to work.

The host

Ben keeps it warm and simple: "I love the Lord, I love people, and I love baseball. If there is a way we can serve you with this cage, just say the word." That serve-first spirit (plus a machine, a live arm, and a stack of gear at $20/hour) makes this one of the friendlier spots you'll find.

Good to know

Lights and a sound system make evening sessions easy, and the deep supply of balls and bats means less to haul. At $20/hour with a live arm, a machine, and gear included, it's genuinely one of the better values you'll come across. House rules keep it respectful: no pets, no smoking, no alcohol, and no full team practices, so plan for individual or small-group hitting.
