Backyard Batting Cage in Dallas, TX

Every hitter wishes they had a real training setup at home, and this backyard batting cage in Dallas, TX is exactly that — a full pitcher-and-hitter space one dad built so his three baseball-playing boys would always have a place to work.
The cage
This outdoor cage runs 50 feet long, 12 wide, and 10 tall, floored with synthetic Astroturf for a clean, consistent surface. Hitters get a Jugs Jr. pitching machine fed with 30 yellow dimpled balls, an L-screen, a hitting tee, and baseballs, while pitchers get a full-size adjustable mound and a bucket of hardballs for real bullpen work. There's room for infield reps and a bench for players waiting their turn, plus lights for evening sessions. Sessions run $20/hour, with the pitching machine and lights each available as add-ons.
Who it's for
With space for up to six guests, a mound, and infield room, this cage handles far more than hitting alone. It's a strong fit for pitchers throwing bullpens, hitters facing steady machine reps, and a couple of families or teammates who want to split time between the mound and the plate without stepping on each other.
The host
Chester comes from a baseball family — an uncle who played college ball — and has three boys, ages 8 to 11, two pitchers and a catcher. He "put this cage together to offer the boys a place to practice together," and that care shows in the setup. His kids are now the ones with the cage in the backyard, and he's opened it up so other Dallas families can get the same head start.
Good to know
The netted, turf-floored cage keeps everything contained, and the lights make evening sessions easy for players coming after school or work. House rules are simple: no seeds, no pets, no loud music, keep it respectful. The adjustable mound is the standout — this is a genuine two-way training space, not just a hitting cage.
