Tucked into the Virginia high country, this indoor batting cage in Whitetop, VA is a private, covered setup (Maximum Velocity Training) built for hitters and teams who want extra reps close to home, with Hit-Trax available when you want real numbers.

The cage

The cage measures 70 feet long, 14 wide, and 14 tall, a roomy, covered space set up for both baseball and softball. It's stocked with baseballs and softballs, a baseball pitching machine, a fast-pitch softball machine, an L-screen, a hitting tee, and both baseball and softball bullpen mounds, with space for infield work. Sessions run $30/hour with four guests included and room for up to eight, and Hit-Trax is available as a $20 add-on. Amenities include a restroom, parking, lighting, and music.

Who it's for

With machines for both sports, mounds for bullpens, and infield room, the cage covers hitters, pitchers, and fielders. It's a strong fit for individual training, a parent and player, or a small team grabbing extra work, and the optional Hit-Trax turns a session into measurable feedback on exit velocity and ball flight.

The host

This is a private cage rather than a commercial facility, a covered, well-equipped space made available by the hour so hitters near Whitetop have somewhere real to train year-round. In a rural corner of Virginia where full setups like this are rare, having a 70-foot covered cage with machines for both sports and optional Hit-Trax is a genuine asset for local players.

Good to know

The covered setup supports practice in any season, and the LED lighting means evening reps are no problem. Parking and restroom access make longer sessions comfortable, and Hit-Trax is there when you want to put numbers to your swing. At $30 an hour with four guests included and room for up to eight, it's an easy space for a family or a small group to share.
