This covered, lighted indoor batting cage in Carson City, NV exists because a lifelong ballplayer decided his team deserved somewhere better to train — and then went and built it. The cage

The cage is fully indoor and covered, measuring 35 feet long, 13 wide, and 12 tall, so wind, heat, and cold never cost anyone a session. It comes stocked with a baseball pitching machine, an L-screen, and a hitting tee, with both baseballs and softballs on hand for machine reps or tee work. LED lighting keeps evening slots bright, and there's a seating area for waiting players, a restroom, music, and on-site parking. Who it's for

"Been in baseball since I was a kid," Royal says.
