Host Spotlight: Tomas's Backyard Cage in St. Cloud, FL

Tomas Huertas built a backyard cage in St. Cloud, Florida with room to spare — and a whole lot of grass to work with. Here's our next Cage Spotlight.
The cage
Tomas's private residential cage measures 14 feet wide by 70 feet long by 12 feet high, set on natural grass in the backyard of a private residence. Beyond the cage itself there's a big additional practice area — roughly 125 feet by 85 feet — extending toward the front of the yard, so there's plenty of room for infield work and fielding drills alongside the tee and L-screen. It's an outdoor, uncovered setup with lighting for evening sessions, restroom access, on-site parking, and music. Teams of up to 15 players are welcome, the minimum age is 5, and it suits everyone from youth players up through college and pro-level hitters. Sessions start at $45/hour, and the family is continually improving the space — with plans for more lights, artificial grass, seating, and eventually a roof.
The host
Tomas and his family host with a simple love of the game: "We are a family that loves baseball and we love watch the kids train for something they love while having fun at the same time." That warmth comes through in the details.
