Host Spotlight: John Frost's Batting Cage in North Hollywood, CA

If CageList had a hall of fame, John Frost would already be in it. His backyard cage in North Hollywood is the most-booked cage on the entire platform — 48 sessions and counting, every single review five stars — which makes it the perfect place to kick off our new Cage Spotlight series, where we shine a light on the hosts who make this whole thing work.
The cage
John's setup is a hitter's dream tucked into a North Hollywood backyard. It runs a full 52 feet with room to really let it fly, and it's dialed in for both hitting and pitching: a Hack Attack Jr. pitching machine, a real pitcher's mound set at 42–46 feet, an L-screen, a tee, and LED night lighting so the session doesn't have to end when the sun goes down. Shade cloth overhead keeps it cool, there's a seating area for parents and teammates, and there's even a public park right across the street if you want to add some fielding work. It goes for $50/hour, and it's a very private space — just you and your crew.
The host
John isn't a big facility — he's a baseball guy, like a lot of our best hosts. "We have two baseball kids in the family and I've coached well over a dozen seasons of youth baseball," he says. He and his family use the cage for private lessons and small groups, and when they're not on it, they open it up to hitters in the neighborhood. That's the exact idea CageList was built on: a great cage shouldn't sit empty when someone nearby wants to get their reps in.
What hitters say
Nine reviews, all five stars. A few favorites:
"Fantastic space. John was very welcoming and it was exactly what we were looking for. Will be back." — Dylan
"Great cage near my house! John was responsive and made my sons and I feel at home. Thank you!" — Luis
"Best cage around, gonna be back Friday!" — Jeremy
The theme never changes: a clean, well-equipped cage, an easy and responsive host, and hitters who book once and keep coming back.
Book it — or list your own
If you're anywhere near the San Fernando Valley and you need somewhere to hit, book John's cage here — grab your bucket and go to work. Somewhere else? Find a batting cage near you and get in the box.
And if you've got a cage of your own sitting idle most of the week, John is a great example of what's possible. List your cage on CageList and see what it could earn — while helping hitters in your own community get better.
Thanks for being part of CageList since day one, John. Here's to the next 48.
