Host Spotlight: Stephen's Backyard Batting Cage in Phoenix, AZ

There's something great about a cage built by someone who finally made their own baseball dream real. That's Stephen in Phoenix, whose simple, no-fuss backyard cage gives hitters complete privacy to do their thing on their own schedule.
The cage
Stephen turned an alley on his property into an outdoor batting cage that runs a generous 59 feet long, 12 wide, and 14 high — plenty of room to really let it fly. It comes with baseballs, an L-screen, and a hitting tee, so it's ready for tee work and front-toss reps the moment you arrive. The best part is the freedom it gives you: as Stephen puts it, "you can hit whenever during the day. No lights yet!" It's a completely private, self-access setup — "all access without anyone bothering you," in his words — so you never even have to coordinate a meetup. Just show up, hit, and go. Parking is on site, and it goes for just $25/hour, which makes it one of the more affordable full-length lanes around.
The host
Stephen sums himself up perfectly: "I am a lifetime ball player... a restauranteur with a love of baseball. Finally made my own cage." That's the whole idea behind CageList — a great cage that would otherwise sit quiet, opened up so hitters nearby can get their reps in whenever they need them.
