Host Spotlight: Ry's Backyard Batting Cage in Merced, CA

A family cage run by a college athlete, right by Merced College in the Central Valley — that's Ry's setup, and it's a genuinely great place to hit. Dickey Fields is the kind of welcoming space that makes you want to keep coming back.
The cage
Ry's outdoor cage runs 55 feet long, 12 wide, and 10 high — a full-length, fresh-air lane with room to work. It comes with an L-screen, a hitting tee, and a bullpen mound, so hitters and pitchers can both get real reps in during the same visit. LED lighting keeps evening sessions going after the Central Valley sun drops, and there's a seating area for parents and teammates, restroom access, parking, and music on site to make a longer session comfortable. As Ry puts it, it's a "GREAT batting cage set up! Located by Merced College in the Central Valley — come use our family cage!" That easy, come-on-in tone is exactly how it feels to book here. Sessions run $45/hour.
The host
Ry is a "college athlete looking to share my cage with baseball players, coaches, and parents," with lessons in hitting, pitching, and fielding available on request. Opening up a family cage to the local community — and offering to help players get better while you're at it — is exactly the spirit CageList was built on.
