Host Spotlight: Mike's Outdoor Batting Cage in Queen Creek, AZ

Mike always said if he ever had the space in his backyard, a batting cage would be the first thing he'd build. Now he's got it — a bright, freshly-turfed cage in Queen Creek that his baseball-loving neighbors are just fine with.
The cage
Mike's outdoor cage runs 50 feet long, 15 wide and 14 high, with brand-new artificial turf and lighting that's plenty bright for night sessions. The centerpiece is a newer Casey Pro pitching machine, backed by an L-screen, a hitting tee, and enough space for infield work. Baseballs and softballs are on hand, helmet and bat rentals are available, and there's parking plus a spot for music. It all goes for $50/hour. As Mike notes, the photo showing the lights was taken before the turf went in — it's an even better setup now.
The host
Mike is the youngest of five boys from a competitive family and played baseball up until college. Building this cage was a long-held dream, and he's proud of how it turned out — lights, new turf, a solid machine, and gear included.
