Host Spotlight: Kristy's Backyard Batting Cage in Camarillo, CA

Some cages are all business. Kristy's cage in Camarillo, California is the one where you'll get treated like family — her words, not ours: "Come get some amazing batting practice at a home where you'll be welcomed and treated like family."

The cage

Kristy's outdoor cage is 40 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 12 feet high, and it comes stocked. There's a huge protective L-screen, a batter's box mat, a Bata pitching machine, a Tanner tee, a pitching net, and over 100 pitching-machine balls that she says are "just like the real thing." The cage is easy to reach through a back gate, and the backyard has seating, LED lighting for evening sessions, and parking. Because they're on a cul-de-sac, there's even a basketball net for groups waiting their turn — and a BBQ and two fire pits available on request. Sessions run $40/hour.

The host

Kristy opened up her private backyard cage to hitters in the Camarillo area, turning a family home into a genuinely welcoming place to get some swings in. As she signs off: "Come check it out and batters up!"
