Host Spotlight: Fernando's Backyard Batting Cage in Long Beach, CA

Fernando's cage in Long Beach, California comes with a clear philosophy, and he doesn't bury it: "This cage is centered on growth and development of your game. Come to work not to play." If you're serious about getting better, you're his kind of hitter.
The cage
Fernando's outdoor cage is a big one — 50 feet long, 14 feet wide, and 14 feet high, with real headroom for a full swing. It's set up for both baseball and softball, with a baseball pitching machine and a fastpitch softball pitching machine on hand, so hitters on either side of the game can dial in against live speed. Round that out with an L-screen, a hitting tee, and both baseballs and softballs provided. There's LED lighting for evening sessions and a sound system if you want some music while you work. Sessions run $50/hour, with room for a good-sized group.
The host
Fernando opened up his private Long Beach cage to hitters in the area, and he asks one thing up front: he has neighbors, so treat the space with respect. Show up ready to work and this is a serious place to develop your swing.
