Host Spotlight: Erik's Ranch Batting Cage in Castaic, CA

If you're hunting for reps out in Castaic, Erik Richardson has one of the more serious backyard setups you'll find in the area — a full-length cage built on the family ranch and opened up to hitters who need somewhere to work.
The cage
Erik's outdoor cage measures 55 feet long, 15 feet wide, and 14 feet tall — long enough to see real pitch flight and take honest swings. It's equipped for both baseball and softball: a baseball pitching machine, a fast-pitch softball pitching machine, an L-screen, a hitting tee, and enough room around the cage for infield work. LED lighting means the session doesn't stop when the sun does, and there's a seating area, parking, restroom access, and music to round it out. It runs $50/hour, and private lessons are available as an add-on if you want coaching built into your time.
The host
Erik keeps it simple about why he built the place: "I am a father of 2 boys and built a batting cage on our ranch so they could practice as well as the team they play on." He's a youth baseball coach and a personal trainer, so the setup was designed by someone who actually knows what a good hitting session needs — and now it's open to the wider Castaic community.
