Host Spotlight: Daniel's Batting Cage & Backyard Setup in Pelham, AL

Daniel's place in Pelham, just 3 miles off I-65, is more than a batting cage — it's a full backyard built for team practices, birthday parties, and private lessons alike. But at its core is a seriously good hitting setup.
The cage
The cage runs 70' x 14' x 12' and centers on an Iron Mike pitching machine that self-feeds up to 40 balls without reloading — Daniel prefers it because the arm motion mimics an actual pitcher and it's dead-simple to adjust speed and angle. The package is loaded: multiple bats, an L-screen, a turf hitting mat, 100 baseballs, a hitting tee, plyo balls, and SKLZ trainers like the Hurricane and Hit-a-Way. There's also a fastpitch softball machine and room for infield work. This outdoor cage goes for $40/hour, and the property adds optional extras — a screened porch with a smart TV, patio heaters, a fire pit, a 120-foot zip line, corn hole, and more. Batting helmets are required but not provided, so bring your own.
The host
Daniel was born and raised in Pelham and loves coaching youth baseball — not just for the game, but for the lessons it teaches: "Respect. Teamwork. Hustle." He sees the cage as a chance to help kids build confidence and a love for the sport.
