Host Spotlight: Bruce's Backyard Batting Cage in Westminster, MD

Sometimes all a hitter needs is a long, clean outdoor lane and the freedom to get to work — and that's exactly what Bruce offers in Westminster. His backyard cage is a straightforward, no-frills place to put in serious reps.
The cage
Bruce's outdoor cage is a generous 65 feet long, 11 wide, and 11 high — a real full-length lane for fresh-air hitting, not a cramped starter setup. As he describes it, it's an "11x11x65' Outdoor Batting cage" built as a "Jugs #7 batting cage with turf base," and it comes with a hitting mat and an L-screen ready to go. The turf base and hitting mat make for a clean, consistent surface underfoot, which matters more than people think when you're grooving a swing. Parking is on site, and it's an easy, low-key setup that's well suited to solo work or a small group rotating through. Sessions run $45/hour, a fair rate for a lane this long.
The host
Bruce opened up his private Westminster cage to hitters in the area — a well-built outdoor lane that would otherwise sit empty, made available to local players who just want somewhere reliable to get their reps. That's the whole idea behind CageList, and Bruce is a great example of it.
