Host Spotlight: Bo's Batting Cave in New Braunfels, TX

Bo's "Polish Batting Cave" in New Braunfels is honest in the best way — he'll tell you it's not perfect, then show you exactly why it works so well. His outdoor backyard cage is a two-baseball-dad labor of love, complete with a real pitching mound.
The cage
This is an outdoor backyard cage measuring 60 feet long, 13 wide, and 12 tall, on net turf with lights for evening sessions. The standout detail is the pitching mound set up at 50 feet, plus a warm-up wall outside so you can loosen up before you "step into some live pitching." Bo has a real machine lineup: a Junior Hack Attack loaded with 80 leather baseballs, plus a smaller SKLZ machine for small bats and balls. There's a proper baseball pitching machine, an L-screen, a tee, baseballs, and a bullpen mound, with a walk-through gate so you don't get tangled in the net. There's parking, lighting, music, and seating. Sessions run $40/hour for you and a guest.
The host
Bo is a baseball dad through and through: "Married with two boys, 10 and 8. Both are in select baseball." That's the whole story — a cage built for his own kids that he opens up to other hitters around New Braunfels. As he puts it, "it's not perfect, but it works very well."
