Host Spotlight: Anthony's Backyard Batting Cage in Geneva, OH

Some hosts are running a business. Anthony Campofredano isn't — and he'll be the first to tell you. He built his cage in Geneva, OH for himself and his son, and he opens it up for one simple reason: he loves the game and wants to help anyone who feels the same.
The cage
Anthony's outdoor cage runs 50 feet long, 16 feet wide, and 12 feet tall, with a bullpen mound and a pitching machine so you can hit or throw. There's a batting tee, baseballs on hand, and enough room around it for some infield work, too. Because the cage is right in his yard, he'll offer you whatever he's got to drink while you're there — a nice touch you won't get at a commercial cage. Sessions run just $25/hour, one of the more affordable setups you'll come across.
The host
Anthony's got real baseball in his background: he coaches 14–16-year-olds, gives private pitching and hitting lessons, and played semi-pro ball in Florida last year before an injury — he's now training for open tryouts next season. As he puts it, "This isn't a business, I just want to offer a place to hit and throw and pass on my experience to help." That's about as pure as it gets.
Book it — or list your own
