Ruben built the Sparkling City Athletic Club with the local kids in mind. His private indoor space in Corpus Christi is a two-cage setup with a real focus on families and community — exactly the kind of host we love to feature.

The cage

The Sparkling City Athletic Club is a private indoor facility with two cages, each 30 feet long, 12 wide, and 10 tall, plus a dedicated pitchers' area and a parents' waiting area — a nice touch when the whole family comes along. Being indoors and covered, it's a reliable spot no matter the Gulf Coast weather. The equipment covers both games: baseballs and softballs, a fast-pitch softball pitching machine, an L-screen, hitting tees, and enough room to get some infield work in. There's a bathroom, parking, seating, and lighting. Sessions start at $25/hour, and the space holds a group up to fifteen.

The host

Ruben's mission is short and clear: he's "committed to helping the youth in our community." That comes through in how the place is laid out — the pitchers' area, the waiting space for parents, the room for a group of fifteen. When it's open, he shares the facility with hitters and teams around Corpus Christi.
