Host Spotlight: Joseph's 3-Cage Facility in Athens, AL

Joseph lives about 200 feet from his own batting facility — and that tells you exactly how seriously he takes it. His indoor space in Athens is a full 3-cage operation with a HitTrax option, run by a coach who does baseball full time.
The cage
This is a real indoor facility: three full-length cages, each 70 feet long, 14 wide, and 13 tall, all on turf under roof with L-screens and mats. "Turf and indoors, electricity, and all the tools you can think of, from tees to a HitTrax," is how Joseph describes it. The equipment runs deep — baseball and softball supplies, a pitching machine, L-screens, and hitting tees — and the HitTrax add-on gives you real batted-ball data on your swing. There's parking, lighting, music, and a bathroom on site. Sessions start at $20/hour, with the HitTrax available as an add-on.
The host
Joseph is about as committed a host as they come. "I have a 5,000-square-foot facility on my own property. I live within 200 feet of it, with my family," he says. "I'm a huge baseball guy, so I will come out and visit and help. I run individual lessons full time. Baseball is all I do." He played at Elkmont High and Shelton State, and now he opens the doors to hitters and teams around Athens.
