Host Spotlight: Derek's Indoor Batting Cage in Douglasville, GA

Derek Nichols runs West Georgia Sports, a full-length indoor batting cage in Douglasville built for serious baseball and softball training — the kind of place you can hit hard no matter what the weather is doing outside.

The cage

This is a deluxe indoor setup, and it's a big one: 70 feet long, 14 feet wide, and 16 feet high, with lighting and a seating area. Being fully indoors means year-round, weather-proof sessions. The base cage comes with baseballs, an L-screen, a hitting tee, a pitching machine, and enough room for infield work. If you want to go bigger, Derek offers add-ons: a Hack Attack Jr. pitching machine, plus a full training-equipment package with connection balls, a Velo-Pro, bats, helmets, slam balls, and a weighted rope. At $25/hour for the base cage, it's a lot of setup for the money, and it works just as well for softball as it does for baseball.

The host

Derek opened up his Douglasville facility to hitters across the West Georgia area, giving both baseball and softball players a full-length, fully equipped place to train on their own schedule.
