Grew up in Mount Prospect and pitched at Prospect HS, Arizona State, Mesa CC, South Mountain CC and Grand Canyon University, where he was All-Conference and twice PacWest pitcher of the week. Coached one season at GCU, then as pitching coach at Lake Park and Amundsen high schools. His own arm history drives how he teaches body development, maintenance and healthy pitch counts.

Honolulu native who went from South Mountain CC and Concordia Irvine to the White Sox as a 13th-round pick in 2009. Led the South Atlantic League in wins and innings at Kannapolis in 2010 and reached Double-A Birmingham before four more seasons in independent ball. Now a personal trainer and private pitching and hitting instructor who runs clinics and camps with Tom at FCP.

Meet the owner
Tom grew up in Mount Prospect, pitched at Arizona State, South Mountain and Grand Canyon, and coached at GCU and two Chicago-area high schools before opening First Class Prospects. He runs the softball side of the Rawlings Tigers Northern Illinois program; Herb Plucinski runs baseball.
First Class Prospects is an indoor baseball and softball training facility in Rosemont, Illinois, a few minutes from O'Hare and across I-294 from the Fashion Outlets. The building is all turf: four batting cages (three tunnels and a big flat-ground cage), a dedicated pitching area, a weight room and a film room. Owners Thomas Catomer and Herb Plucinski run the building and the Rawlings Tigers Northern Illinois travel program out of it. Trainers on staff cover hitting, catching, pitching, fielding, strength and conditioning, and the mental side of the game; most played college ball in the Chicago area. Book a cage by the hour, a private lesson with a trainer, or a clinic. Teams that practice here regularly can set up a recurring schedule.
