Of 1,174 independent facilities whose sites loaded, about 1 in 4 uses software built for sports facilities. The rest book through general appointment apps, gym software, forms or the phone.
How we counted. We read each site's HTML plus up to four of its booking pages. A booking widget that loads only through JavaScript is missed, and 427 sites could not be read at all, so every count here is a floor. The ranking between tools holds up better than the share with no online booking, which is probably too high.

The honest math.
Card processing costs about the same everywhere, so the fair comparison is our 2% against a flat monthly fee. Our model costs nothing in a slow month. A very busy facility can pay more with a percentage than with a flat fee: 2% of $5,000 in online bookings is $100 a month.
Memberships on CageList carry a 10% fee, which adds up fastest for a facility with many members.

Is CageList booking software?
CageList is a directory and booking marketplace for baseball and softball. Each facility gets a page that players find in search. Booking, classes, lessons and memberships run on that page. It is not a front-desk register or a staff-scheduling system.
What do baseball and softball facilities actually book on?
In our September 2026 scan of 1,361 readable facility websites, the largest group, 36%, showed no online booking. Software built for sports facilities was next at 21%, then D-BAT's franchise system at 14%. We read each site's HTML plus up to four booking pages, so widgets that load only through JavaScript are missed and every count is a floor.
Do I have to replace my current software?
No. Claiming a facility page is free. You can point your website's Book a cage button at CageList for rentals and keep your current system for everything else.
What does CageList cost next to flat-fee software?
A facility page is free, and Featured is $49 a year to turn on booking. Bookings cost 5% all-in, described as 3% card processing plus 2% CageList, with no fee to the family on facility bookings.
