How to get a look in Seoul

No one can guarantee you a spot, and be wary of anyone selling one. This is the order that gets a reply most often: honest level, clean paperwork, one short note to the right desk.

Pick the rung you really fit

Match your last full season to a rung above. One rung up is a stretch; two is a long shot. Early on, aim at clubs and open tryouts, not the top flight.

Check you are allowed to sign

Your passport decides this before your swing does. Read the imports line on each card, then ask Korea Baseball Softball Association (KBSA) about visas and work permits. We do not hold visa rules, and where a rule is not sourced the card says "Ask the league".

Build a one-page pack

A 60 to 90 second highlight clip, a stat sheet with level and dates, position, bats and throws, height and weight, passport countries and the weeks you are free. Send links, not attachments.

Write to the right desk

Start with Korea Baseball Softball Association (KBSA). Five lines, one ask: what is the process for overseas players in Seoul? A starter email is below.

Time it to the season

Doosan Bears (KBO) plays March to October. Write in the off-season, before rosters are set.
