Baseball has been my life since I was 4. I learned the game from my grandfather and my dad, who played professionally in Cuba, and I still play competitively in adult leagues in Los Angeles. I started coaching in 2008 and have worked with players from T-ball through college, in Little League, Pony, travel ball and now as a varsity high school coach. I also run youth baseball camps for kids 7 to 12 built around mechanics and a camp scrimmage game called Hustle Ball. In a lesson I start by getting to know the player, then we play catch and work on throwing mechanics before moving into whatever they need most, whether that is hitting, pitching, fielding, catching or baserunning. I want every kid to improve and to have fun doing it.
Coaching since 2008, from T-ball through college, 17+ years. Varsity head coach at Hollywood High School. Has coached with Top Level Baseball, MADE Baseball, Santa Monica Pony, Cheviot Hills Pony and Beverly Hills Little League. Runs youth baseball camps for ages 7 to 12. 2018 Los Angeles Citywide Tournament champion as a coach.
Four years of high school baseball, then community college until an injury ended that run. Still plays competitively in adult leagues and manages the Santa Monica Mavericks in the Beach Cities Adult Baseball League.

Gabriel, a camp parent

From day one, Coach Louie created an environment that was both fun and focused, helping the kids develop their skills while keeping them engaged and excited. My son came home each day more confident in his abilities, especially in his hitting and fielding. Coach Louie was patient, energetic, and clearly passionate about teaching the game.
