About the league
The Southern Maine Men's Baseball League (SMMBL) is an MSBL-affiliated adult amateur baseball league based in the Portland area with 25+ and 35+ divisions. It houses 13 teams and operates from May through September, with the 2026 season starting May 4 (35+) and May 5 (25+).
Like most men's leagues, it plays real hardball across 25+, 35+ divisions, with wood or BBCOR bats, umpired games and a full season schedule. It is the kind of competitive baseball that's hard to find once high school and college ball are behind you. Rosters usually mix former high school and college players with guys returning to the game after years away, so there's typically a division that fits your level. New players can usually join Southern Maine Men's Baseball League as a free agent or enter a full team; reach out through the league before the season sets its rosters. This is a free, unclaimed CageList directory listing; the league runs its own schedule, rosters, and registration.
Between games, keep your swing and glove sharp: Portland-area players can book batting cages and find training facilities and open fields to practice at nearby.
